We traveled in Thailand

by plane, bus and boat.

We made some new friends there,

We traveled with OAT.

We learned some Thai words there,

to stand out from the crowd.

Greeting Sawasdee Krap is good,

In the North Sawasdee Jao.

We all tried the Thai food,

curries, veggies, and rice.

For some it was too much,

the rest thought it nice.

We learned to cook Thai food,

and that Thai grub was good.

We checked out the fields where,

the Thais grew their food.

We visited hill tribes,

their costumes looked hot.

Took pictures of children,

mistah, only ten baht!

We saw many temples,

jewels under the palms.

We gave to the monks,

their morning alms.

A short flight to Lanna,

and its capital Chiang Mai,

let us delve into Buddhism,

but Nirvana passed us by.

Ten thousand temples in Siam,

we saw thirty-three,

and learned the man Buddha,

was born under a cannonball tree.

We learned that Nirvana,

comes after the last life,

but that happiness is...

a little Thai wife.

Randy, Dave and Brady,

tried all the Thai drink,

stayed up making noise,

till no one could think.

We sang Karaoke,

in pubs clubs and bars,

and flirted with nurses,

out under the stars.

We found lots of bargains,

on indigo and silk,

jade, rubies, and emeralds,

and rocks of that ilk.

We walked into Myanmar,

Burma of the past,

with Aung San Suu Kyi,

under house arrest.

The junta in power,

stole election results,

and the current regime,

is led by some dolts.

Some elephants carried us,

the trainers poked them.

Pachyderms won’t forget us,

and we’ll think of them.

Nancy saw much of Thailand,

not hindered a bit.

she hiked, boated and Boggled,

trumping all with her wit.

We traveled the railroad,

made by prisoners of war,

and paid our respects there,

to what happened before.

We learned of the V force.

Thais with food for,

the starving men working,

while prisoners of war.

We floated the rivers,

Mae Kong and Kwai Noi.

Now we're off to Viet Nam

First to modern Ha Noi.
