This
image is a linocut, circa 1990. It evolved from a sketch of an African sculpture
representing two asps with a hindquarter each of a monkey. The face anchoring the
struggle was intentionally represented as offset, to reflect the apparent duallity
of a struggle on top of a face that reflects none of the turmoil occuring above. |

Over his
non-illustrious career, Brady Hart has experimented with various forms of printmaking
media, including Silkscreen
Lithography
Intaglio

This image is an intaglio print.
This form of printmaking, also known as etching, involves creating ink retaining
crevices in a metal plate, in this case zinc. The image was
inspired by a
series of still life oil paintings created by Paul Cezanne at the turn of the century, the
most famous of which is entitled Still life with apples and oranges. Prints
have been pulled in wide variety of colors. |

This monoprint was
produced produced as a conte impression on the reverse of a ball point sketch. It's
a fun technique that gives a great texture to each line. |

of this design were printed by clothing maker patagonia, and sold exclusively through
their company-owned retail stores. T-Shirt Bears no artist attribution
or signature. One customer had one signed.
Image adapted from a window painted mural of these salmon swimming up
the company's Seattle storefront on first avenue.

completed by Mr. Hart during his tenure at Patagonia.
