After months in a temporary location in another room, in August 2002 the rack enclosure was reinstalled in its permanent location, now with a conduit connecting it to the nearby wiring/furnace closet.
Below is the wiring closet patch wall. The two strips on the left are wired to the patch panel in the bottom of the rack enclosure.
It took two rounds of drilling but Brady managed to convince the HP switch brackets to mount on a bracket which was not quite tall enough to use the original top holes.
The first three computers on the desk below are occupying precious horizontal space awaiting installation in the enclosure.
Brady really scored at Boeing Surplus when he found two leviton cat5 patch panels and a wall-mountable 19" hinged rack to hold them. One was used in the bottom of the big enclosure to terminate connections to the wiring closet.
